Wasim Aftab, MQM co-ordination committee member said this at a news conference here on Tuesday. He was flanked by number of MQM legislators including MNAs Kanwar Khalid Yunus, Federal Minister for Housing and Works Syed Safwanullah, Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi, Nawab Mirza Advocate, Professor Khalid Wahab, Begum Shamim Akhtar, Abdul Qadir Khanzada and Begum Afsar Jehan.
He said MQM wanted to involve local community in the reconstruction process through KKF, for which it had planned to establish offices in each of the affected area.
He said his party would participate in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process for which involvement of local community was essential.
The sub-offices of KKF would be initially established at Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad and Balakot.
Responding to a question, he said the party had not any political motive behind setting up units of KKF and the step was taken totally on humanitarian ground.
He said they appealed to the people of AJK and NWFP to help MQM in carrying out humanitarian activities through their active participation. He further said his party had so far offered relief services of around rupees three billion in terms of food, clothes, medicines, blankets and other services.
The party is also working on construction of houses in the affected areas, particularly, in the remote areas of AJK, he maintained.
